Description brass Maltese cross finished in green enamel; circular center has embossed illustration of a 5-bastion fort with a view of a hill top fortress and palm trees in the foreground - set within the fort outline; white circular border marked "Society of the Army of Santiago 1898;" back is marked "Satiago Campaign June 14 July 17"; cross topped by a spread-winged eagle; red and yellow vertical striped ribbon attached to a loop at eagle's back; silver button sewn to back of ribbon.
