One of several pieces of silver given to the donor's mother, Lucy Miller Blatt, as a wedding gift. Miss Miller/Mrs. Blatt worked as "head of the cooking staff" for three summers as an employee of Birchard Hayes; her sister, Minnie Miller, was a governess to Birchard's four sons for seven years. |
